Sorry recovery, you can suck it...again

I went running out with the TnT "gang" today. First off, I'm tired. My sleep has been off, waking up although I'm still sleepy :( I have been doing a lot of my workouts early in the morning, so my body may just be trying to adapt to a different schedule. Of course, I still do my evening crossfits and jiu jitsu. So yes - tired. We had a farewell party for a gym coach yesterday. I might have over indulged in some food. So I woke up with less than perfect sleep and a gut hangover. Recovery - f* yo' face. I threw caution to the wind as I jumped into my Zoot compression socks (ok, maybe jump isn't the word), got my trusty Directional Fuel Belt waterbottle, and went to go for an hour run with the team. It was the typical first ten minutes of "why am I doing this crap," followed by easing into my stride. It ended on a good note.

My Garmin has bit the dust. Now I have no idea to tell how much I've run or biked distance wise. Back to square one of pondering a new gps watch. I looked at my options. I don't want too many pieces of things to forget, so the one piecers are a good idea. They just cost an arm and leg.

I posted the snap of me with my hair brushed out some weeks ago. I wanted my friends to see the difference a brush makes. All too often, they think my curly hair remains curly. Here's a picture from the December 16, 2010 WOD from the main site. It's a pretty picture, nice view. The comments to the picture were interesting. A majority of comments related to how pretty the lady was. Other comments wanted to know about the front view. There were also comments about how the picture was distasteful, unwanted, unnecessary. Some comments stated that lady in the picture wasn't what a "real" woman looked liked. Interesting.

I've heard claims that the Crossfit community, and others as well, is all about leveraging functionality and strength. Muscles are required to be strong. There is not much definition in the back of this girl. That was the root of some comments. She was stereotypically pretty and not Crossfit pretty. I understand. My first reaction to the people raving about the "Strong = Sexy" Life as Rx tee, what you really meant to say was "Anything without a top = sexy." Don't get the two confused b…
